#1 Commute

We have two train stations on the NJ Transit midtown direct service, Short Hills station and Millburn Station. During peak hours you can get to NY Penn station in 35 mins! Parking is available right by the train stations, you can get a monthly or yearly parking permit and there are daily parking options available too. Millburn train station is also right by Millburn Downtown area which has some lovely restaurants and cafes.

#2. Public Schools

Short Hills is a zip code and a CDP (Census designated place) in Millburn township. The Millburn township school district is rated among the best in NJ. There are 5 Elementary schools, 1 Middle school and 1 High School. The schools offer high academic standards, experienced teachers and diverse extracurricular activities. The high school also offers the AP (Advanced Placement) program. The Middle school and High School are located walking distance to the Millburn Downtown. The five Elementary schools are spread out across different areas of Millburn/Short Hills, NJ.

#3. Downtown

Short Hills has a lovely downtown with some excellent restaurants, cafes, quaint shops, beauty and Hair salons and is walking distance from the middle school, High school and the Millburn train station. During the school year, kids will always gather afterschool at the Starbucks or the Haagen Daz ice cream shop! How much fun is that! #4. Short Hills Mall

This is one of the country’s most prestigious and upscale shopping centers. The Short Hills Mall has big department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neimen Marcus, Macys, it has pretty much every top luxury brand (Gucci, Burberry, Fendi, Dior, Chanel, Cartier, Tiffany etc.) plus regular everyday brands like Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Lululemon, Gap etc., and there are furniture stores like crate and Barrel, Arhaus, even Roche has opened here. For places to eat, they have the sit-down restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, Legal sea Foods and there is this Italian marketplace, Primo Mercato where you can get a variety of items for a quick bite.  The mall pretty much has everything for everyone!

#5. Green Spaces

There are several parks and recreation spaces for kids and adults, to highlight a few of them,

Taylor Park: which is a lovely downtown park with walking pathways, a gazebo, a picturesque pond and often you will find people taking strolls or doing yoga or playing ball with their kids!

Gero Park: has everything you can think about for sports and leisure activities, it has tennis courts, pickle-ball, basketball courts, playground, and a huge public pool open during the summers!

Greenwood Gardens: is another beautiful green oasis and is the best kept secret in town! The landscaping is serene with sculptures, seasonal plants and there are a number of activities and events held here.

Short Hills has an array of home styles and pretty much every home is unique in its characteristics, there are barely any cookie cutter homes here. Typical home styles that you can find in Short Hills, are Colonials, Tudors, Cape cods, Ranch and you will find some modern homes as well. Average home prices for single-family homes could range from $1 million to several million dollars, home prices can vary significantly depending on factors like the size of the property, its condition, and the neighborhood.
